I live on Kailua beach so I have many pictures from different seasons and different points of the day. One of the most special things to do is wake up as the sun is rising and drink coffee as I walk the beach with my mom. The whole community is awake, everyone rises early and walks the beach for a little morning medicine before the day starts.

Kailua beach is perfect for swimming, boogie boarding, and kite surfing. The wind picks up on the beach, and you can almost always spot a kite surfer out during the day with a brightly colored sail.

Whenever I’m not working or exploring, I can be found napping or reading on a blanket on this beach. It doesn’t get too crowded unless it’s a holiday or a big weekend especially in the summer or at Christmastime, in which case it’s hard to find a spot on the sand! My favorite is the fourth of July, a boat pulls along side the shore and everyone sits on the sand to watch the fireworks.
