Waikiki is the city, if you were a tourist traveling to Hawaii, you would most likely stay in one of it’s many beach front hotels. Although it’s a busy city, it is beautiful and clean and kept up with. My mom and I love coming up to Waikiki on days when Kailua is rainy. We sit along the beach and swim in the crystal clear waters. Once, when my mom was on an ocean swim she got bit by an eel! I come to Waikiki for a night out in the city, like to see Pepper, a famous band that started out here on Oahu.

 

On special occasions my parents take me to my favorite restaurant at one of the fanciest hotels- the Halekulani. Although there are a few restaurants at this hotel, my favorite is the “cocktail restaurant”- the outside restaurant that faces the ocean called “House Without a Key”. On the weekends they have a live Hawaiian band, and the former Miss Hawaii dances the hula dance. The restaurant is known for their famous coconut cake; it tastes like a cloud.
