Ever since I was little, Waimea bay has been my favorite beach in the world. It is situated in a cove, so it stays calm in the summer, however has some of the biggest waves in the world for surfing in the winter. For that reason, I only visit in the summer. On the bottom of the sea, the sand looks like someone raked it, it runs in perfect parallel lines. To the left of the bay is a cliff that many enjoy jumping off of. To the right is a nice area for snorkeling, most people don't snorkel here so it's a nice place to swim undisturbed. Turtles also frequent the bay; they really are a dime a dozen on the north shore.
